From entry-level motorcycles to practical scooters, Super Soco has a diverse electric lineup. But what’s missing is something premium to take on the big guns. And that’s exactly why the Chinese EV maker has now unveiled its first electric maxi-scooter, called the CT-3, at the annual China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition.
The Super Soco CT-3, like most maxi-scooters, flaunts a broad fascia with twin-LED lights and a decently tall visor. Rounding off the design is an equally huge tail section with a vertically stacked LED light and LED indicators. The overall design is somewhat similar to the BMW’s petrol-powered C 400 GT and looks quite premium.
In the cockpit, the Super Soco CT-3 gets a large 7-inch TFT display. Along with all basic tidbits, it packs smartphone connectivity too. Since the smaller Super Soco scooters come with a reverse parking aid, one wouldn’t be wrong to expect it in the CT-3’s feature list too.
Underneath the bodywork lies a belt-driven 18kW motor coupled to a 7.2kWh battery pack which can fully charge in 3 hours. Super Soco claims the CT-3 can reach 125kmph and travel around 180km on a full charge, which are decent numbers for a scooter of its size. For reference, our home-grown Ola S1 Pro can reach 115kmph while offering a range of 180kmph.
The CT-3 rides on 5-spoke alloy wheels, sprung on a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shocks. Braking prowess comes from single disc brakes at both ends. The CT-3 also gets ABS as standard.
The official launch of the Super Soco CT-3 is bound to take place in a couple of months in international markets. While the scooter makes a good case for itself, electric scooters are still not first choices compared to their ICE counterparts. This means Super Soco will have to be patient for the CT-3 to make its mark. If you were in the market for a maxi-scooter, would you pick an electric one such as this? Don’t forget to leave a comment and let us know.
